The Music

Desperate Measures is a blend of Melodeon, Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo, Guitar, Bass and Washboard.

We select our music from a rich repertoire of foot tapping English, Scottish, Irish and American tunes to include a good mixture of dances that cater for all levels of experience.

This traditional social gathering is suitable for all ages, from young children to grannies and is an excellent night out for the whole family. No special athleticism, or aptitude is necessary and Christine (our caller) calls the dances until she is certain you all know where you're putting your feet.

During the intervals between dances to give you a rest and to keep the atmosphere going, we perform a wide range of tunes.
